The 29th Anuga at the new Koelnmesse

New grounds offer an excellent setting for another successful Anuga in Cologne

The 29th Anuga (13th to 17th October 2007) will once again be taking place on the Koelnmesse grounds in the heart of Cologne, but the venue will be very different from previous years. That's because extensive construction work has taken place there since the last Anuga, giving the Cologne exhibition centre a more modern, more efficient and more attractive look. Four new pillar-free halls have been built in the northern part of the grounds, and some of the traditional Rhineside Halls are no longer in use. The Eastern Halls, which remain in use, have been thoroughly modernised and are now called the Southern Halls. Five central entrances will ensure an even flow of visitors at Anuga 2007, and a light-flooded, covered Boulevard will connect the various areas of the fair in order to create a clear structure. The new Cologne exhibition centre is therefore compact and well laid out, while offering plenty of space for Anuga, the world's largest food and beverage fair with over 6,000 suppliers and a gross exhibition space of 296,000 m².

Anuga 2007 will occupy 12 halls. Five visitor entrances will be open: the spacious new Entrance South visible from the railway station, the "Rheinparkhalle" Entrance, the Entrance West for Halls 2 and 4, the modernised Entrance East, and the completely new, light-flooded Entrance North.

The Southern Halls, where the infrastructure, catering areas and sanitary facilities have been modernised, are connected in the centre by an open-air Piazza - an invitingly designed quiet area for taking a break from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair. Ramps to the upper levels of these halls, most of which have two storeys, offer easy vehicular access during the construction and dismantling periods, and there are parking spaces on the hall roofs for exhibitors and visitors.

The four new Northern Halls are spacious, 11 or 15 metres high, and pillar-free. The one-storey halls are vehicle-accessible throughout, ensuring that construction and dismantling run smoothly. The Northern and Southern Halls have supply points throughout for electricity, water, compressed air, telecommunications and media technology.

Two Congress Centres can accommodate congresses, presentations, workshops and events of various sizes and for various needs, from elegant receptions to straightforward meetings.

The halls and Congress Centres are grouped around a 700-metre Boulevard that runs centrally between the Entrance North and the Entrance South. This hub for services and recreation offers a wide range of services and excellent catering facilities, as well as making sure that the halls and other parts of the grounds are all close at hand. A clear signposting system enables exhibitors and visitors to find their way around quickly and easily.

Thanks to the restructured grounds, the outstanding infrastructure and the state-of-the-art technology, Koelnmesse is providing an ideal setting for another successful, world-class Anuga from 13th to 17th October 2007. At the 10 specialized trade shows under one roof, over 6,000 suppliers from around 100 countries will be presenting a comprehensive range of food and drinks for the trade and the food service/catering market. This year sees the launch of Anuga Organic, which covers the booming international market for organically produced and processed foods. Also new is the Anuga partner country concept. The first partner country of Anuga will be Thailand.
