Sicur 08: Specific fire protection system for Al-Deco tools/machinery by Siemens

Sicur 08: Machine tools feature a clear fire risk. Siemens offers an intelligent system for protecting every object, which includes the following characteristics: Fire detection and extinction without any need for a source of electricity; on-line supervision and automatic registration of all the relevant safety events; it may be installed easily and adapted to individual requirements.

The heart of the system is a flexible linear pipe (Lifdes: Linear detection source). This patented sensor, produced with a large molecule polymer, is subjected to a pressure of 15 Bar. Connected to an extinction system by gas using a valve, it is permanently under this pressure and will burn when the room temperature exceeds 110º. In this way, it acts as a linear sensor that will always be activated when the activation temperature is reached. Virtually at the same time as the low pressure, the valve of the bottle would open and the machine is switched to the "emergency stop" mode. The extinguishing agent is introduced through an independent extinction channel and the sprinklers are spaced out in a suitable manner.
The system does not require external detection and extinction feeding. It is insensitive to technical interferences. Incorrect activation is "virtually impossible". It includes the possibility of connection to a fire detection central board, as well as alarm notification by sound or by an interface. It includes a USB interface for communication with a PC using special software.
