SIL 2007: Successful Outcome

2,000 million euros of turnover Once again, SIL broke new records in its 9th Edition. A year on, the exhibitors have confirmed that the number of visitors have risen, which means an increase of the commercial contacts level.

As Enrique Lacalle, President of SIL, stated the Exhibition “has gone beyond the expectations again and has gathered more than 48,000 visitors of the sector”. The estimated turnover went over 2,000 million Euros.

More than 500 journalists disseminate information
The Media have tracked with interest all the news of the Exhibition, which have achieved a great impact in the press, radios, televisions and technical publications of all over the world. More than 500 journalists have concentrated in Barcelona to echo and spread the current news of an Exhibition that is the best platform of the logistics sector.

International Prestige
 
A more Cosmopolitan SIL
This year SIL has achieved 40% of International Exhibitors, figure that makes clear the growing cosmopolitism of Barcelona Exhibition. Mexico was the guest country and, with its visit to Spain, has let the sector know about the logistics projects that is developing in its region. During the event, some delegations also came to SIL. Among them there were: Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, Chile, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Korea.

Ten years of success
Regarding next year, SIL is getting prepared to celebrate its 10th Anniversary. During the closing of this last edition, Enrique Lacalle valued positively the event evolution and declared that the Organizing Committee was delighted with SIL 2008, that will be held from the 3rd to the 6th of June in Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía Venue.
