Road transport and business, 10th International Symposium SIL main topics

The infrastructure responsibles of 5 Autonomous Regions will be the Councillors Summit main protagonists SIL 2007 is100% booked 2 months before the event

The 10th International Symposium SIL – Cinco Días edition will be held the 6th  of June 2007 within the International Logistics and Material Handling Exhibition framework. Once again, Barcelona will be the venue of the most updated knowledge on logistics thanks to Specialists and Civil Service contribution. The speeches are aimed at the specific fields of road transport and the business of emerging markets, in a clear attempt of the organization to provide tangible value to the audience.

The first seminar session, under the title Work Organization in the Road Transport will analyze the new rules matters and will count with businessmen and trade union representatives. Juan Miguel Sánchez, Road Transport Managing Director of the Department of Public Works, will chair the following speakers:

Gonzalo Sanz, President of LOGICA
Pere Padrosa, President of ASTIC
Marcos Montero, President of CETM
Manuel Guerrero, Federal Secretary of Urban Roads and Transport, Communications and Sea, from UGT
Alberto Margalló, General Secretary of Road Sector, from CC.OO


The Councillors Summit, which is the 10th Symposium second session, is presented as one of the biggest main attractions of the Conference. Responsibles of Spanish logistics infrastructures will explain the projects of the different Regional Governments in Spain. The session, chaired by one of the journalists of Cinco Días, foresees the participation of:

·Nuria López de Guereñu Ansola, Minister of Transport and Public Works. Basque Regional Government.
· María Encina Álvarez Parra. Minister of Public Works. Castilla-La Mancha Regional Government.
·Fernando Merry del Val. Minister of Finance and Technological Innovation. Madrid Regional Government.
·Joaquim Nadal. Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Works. Catalan Regional Government.
·Javier Velasco Rodríguez. Minister of Public Works, Urbanism and Transport. Aragón Regional Government.


This second session will enable to know the commitments and perspectives of the different regions regarding the logistics sector promotion and development, as well as the challenges to face up in a near future. The afternoon sessions will be focused on business opportunities research. This way, Symposium programme includes a speech offered by Banco Sabadell about Emerging Markets. Finally, it will be held a debate with the Mexico government representatives; which will be the guest country of the 9th SIL. The table will count with Mrs. Rocío Ruiz Chávez, Undersecretary of Industry and Trade, and with the government representatives of Nuevo León, Guadalajara and Tamaulipa Mexico States.


Once again, the trajectory and position of the speakers and the speeches programmed make the 10th International Symposium SIL – Cinco Días become a mandatory appointment for logistics sector professionals and directors.

Two months before the Event, SIL 2007 is 100% booked. The exhibition is obviously a reference event, with this occupation success. SIL 2007 will be divided into 5 big sectors: Warehousing, Equipment and Material Handling; Infrastructures, Transport and Logistics Systems; Information Technologies (IT); Railway; and Industrial Vehicle.
