Sial 2008: The B2B meeting place for food manufacturers

Sial 08: SIAL is of course a goldmine for food manufacturers – especially the Trends & Innovations Monitor, the Nutrition Village and the French Export Corner. And with IN-FOOD the exhibition will offer them even more in 2008 – with a whole area entirely dedicated to the challenges they face. In addition to its 5,500 exhibitors, SIAL also welcomes some 48,000 food manufacturing professionals as visitors to the show, including company executives and marketing, R&D, technical and quality control managers. With IN-FOOD, a show within the show, SIAL 2008 will offer them a unique opportunity for B2B networking.

Around 100 exhibitors specialising in supplying semi-processed food products, subcontracting solutions, and ingredients and additives will come together for the 4th In-Food, which will be more international than ever before now that it is part of Sial.
In-Food Center: all the ingredients... for innovation!
This area will present the key contribution semi-processed food products, ingredients and additives can make to the process of innovation, focusing on four different areas:
- Nutrition and health, looking at three especially important product groups (fruit/vegetable concentrates, pulps and extracts; beneficial micro-organisms; and peptides);
- Beauty and cosmetics with the trend towards cosmeto-foods – also showcased in the Food & Beauty area at Sial 2008;
- Premium, showing how semi-processed food products, ingredients and additives can enhance added value through innovation;
- Profitability, because one of the benefits of B2B solutions is to optimise the chain of expertise within the food processing process. Students and lecturers from Tecomah (the environmental college affiliated to the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry) will demonstrate the role of semi-processed food products and ingredients by using them to create finished products – and the demonstration will of course be rounded off by a tasting of the results!
...plus a comprehensive programme of talks and workshops. For example: The new ingredients (20 October, 10.30 am); The nutritional status of the population (20 October, 1.00 pm); The importance of R&D (20 October, 4.30 pm), and much more.
