As part of their initial evaluation of the event, professionals highlighted the high-quality selection on show at the exhibition, as well as the important new features and growing tendency of many companies to carry out marketing measures and product presentations within the framework of IBERJOYA. In addition to the trade operations carried out and contacts established throughout the course of the fair, the exhibitors highlighted the considerable degree of post-fair activity that was generated by their participation at IBERJOYA, along with the added-value security factor.
In all these respects, IBERJOYA September 2006 consolidated its role as the most important point of reference for the jewellery industry in Spain and one of the most outstanding events on the European calendar of fairs for the industry.   This much was also confirmed by the participation of a number of leading Spanish companies, manufacturers, designers and importers, not to mention 140 foreign companies  at this edition from Germany, Andorra, Belgium, China, France, Greece,   Hong Kong, India, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Portugal and Turkey. In effect, this fair is recognised as being one of the main international forums for promoting trade activity, boosting the participants' image and presenting the latest new features and trends within the industry.

Fashion Parades, Tributes, a Gala Dinner and Other Activities of Considerable Importance to the Industry
Another of the highly valued aspects at this edition was the staging of a comprehensive programme of activities and trade events. Coinciding with the trade exhibition itself, this programme created an ideal forum for direct analysis and information, both within the industry and within society at large.
In this respect, the Fifth Iberjoya Trends Fashion Parade brought into play all the glamour of the Seventh Art in order to present the infinite possibilities provided by jewellery as an element of fashion, as well as highlighting its versatility and its suitability for any moment of the day. Under the heading of "Cinema & Jewellery", the latest and most innovative jewellery and time-piece lines were paraded on the catwalk, encompassed within five general trends. Diva in Black & White,  Luxury Super Star, Planet Story, A New Glam Star, and The Art of Time.
Upon the conclusion of the Trends Fashion Parade, the traditional Iberjoya Gala Dinner provided the setting for the moving homage that is presented at each edition by the  fair organisers and the Jewellers and Silversmiths' Guild of Madrid  for retailers who have been managing their businesses for more than 50 years.       On this occasion, the homage was organised in honour of Alfred Ernst, José Luis Fernandez, Leopoldo Fernández Jesús López Reyes, Gonzalo Mancisidor and Isidor Zuluaga, all frequent visitors to IBERJOYA.
As a new feature, the  Spanish Association of Jewellers, Silversmiths and Watch-Makers, at the hands of its President, Juan Candame, made the most of the Gala occasion in order to highlight the enormous contribution made by Jesús Yanes, Octavio Sarda and José María Ordovás to the industry, three well-known business representatives who have devoted a large part of their time and energy to the jewellery sector.
