Daring designs and combinations of materials in the collections to be presented at Iberjoya-september 2006

Between 14th and 18th September •The Fifth Iberjoya Trends Fashion Parade will once again be one of the most attractive features of the fair •Rings, earrings and brooches in oversized, highly sophisticated and colourful designs will be the star attractions at the next edition •Under the heading of timepieces, male wrists will sport a range of contemporary designs and female wrists will boast a selection of watches in warm colours with faces and connecting pieces covered in precious stones.

A new edition of IBERJOYA, the International Jewellery, Silverware, Watch and Related Industry Exhibition, will enable professionals from the jewellery industry to discover the latest international trends for the Autumn-Winter 2006/07 season. At its thirty-seventh edition, the fair organised at IFEMA will bring together more than 550 Spanish and foreign exhibitors at Feria de Madrid between 14th and 18th September. Over a period of five days, the new collections and exhibition displays will turn Halls 8 and 10 into a complete showcase for the latest ideas in colours, materials, shapes and designs.
Furthermore, the fair will host the staging of the Fifth IBERJOYA Trends Fashion Parade, one of the most appealing aspects of the September edition, where, as is customary, professionals will be able to enjoy a specific exhibition of jewellery and timepiece fashion lines that are likely to set the trend next season.
On this occasion, under the slogan of ´The Seventh Art´, the Fifth Trends Fashion Parade, which will take place at the North Convention Centre at FERIA DE MADRID on Friday 15th September, will recreate the marvellous world of cinema, presenting an extensive selection of the most outstanding new features and ideas among all those presented by the exhibitors.
Through this Fashion Parade and the general exhibition at IBERJOYA, a number of prestigious designers, manufacturers and top jewellery and timepiece brands will present their new features for autumn-winter 2006/07 season. At this edition, four general ideas will predominate, around which the most innovative and new collections at the fair will revolve: Diva in Black & White is inspired by the cinema of the 1940´s and 1950´s; Luxury Super Star will be imbued with a sense of glamour, luxury and exuberance; Planet Story will be based on a sense of elegance, replete with colour and Oriental influences; and A New Glam Story, will be based on the 1970´s and 1980´s, where an urban approach creates a modern and avant-garde appeal.
This seductive and original range of themes will predominate in jewellery displays over the next few months, alongside a new ornamental appeal, based on the use of large pearls and precious stones in a diverse range of colours. Precisely this emphasis on colour will be another of the key aspects of this edition of the fair, where visitors will be able to contemplate a number of elegant combinations designed to suit all tastes, with special attention being paid to combinations of bright colours with earthy shades.
In addition to colour, the new generation of jewels will be imbued with a strong sense of movement through the incorporation of precious stones in all their varieties. Thus, we will find a selection of different pearls in colours such as black, pink, gold, white ..., diamonds set in rings, bracelets, pendants and earrings in the most up-to-date designs, and a considerable number of natural gems (tourmalines, topazes, citrines, amethysts, peridots, turquoises, etc) with which to create the perfect symphony of light and dazzling appeal.
Pendants will be of generous size, and superimposed and combined materials will offer an appearance that is not especially elaborate, but full of fascination. Silver, steel and gold complement leather, rubber, cord or silk ribbons. There are no limits in terms of shape and volume.
Rings, earrings and brooches will continue to be the most outstanding items in the majority of collections, featuring extra-large and highly sophisticated designs. As far as bracelets are concerned, the collections will present a number of abstract designs imbued with a strong sense of fantasy. All these jewellery items will be of considerable beauty, as well as being highly practical and versatile, created for daily wear. Wearers will enjoy the pleasure of wearing them to work or making them the focus of their evening-wear.
As far as timepieces are concerned, a sense of ecstasy and seduction will set the trend in terms of design for this new season. A minimalist style will triumph in the case of gold or stainless steel watches, whilst colour and extra-large sizes will predominate in the case of sports and fashion watches. Male wrists will sport a range of contemporary designs and female wrists will boast a selection of watches in warm colours with faces and connecting pieces covered, in many cases, with diamonds, sapphires and rubies, making them authentic jewellery items.
Furthermore, next autumn season, the variety of materials used for the straps - impermeable leather, crocodile skin, stainless steel and rubber -, will enter the picture as a differentiating factor.
IBERJOYA will be staged to coincide with INTERGIFT, the International Gift Fair and BISUTEX, the Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Trade Fair. These three events, leaders in their respective sectors, aimed exclusively at the trade, will bring together the products and services of over 2,200 exhibiting companies. The next edition of IBERJOYA, will be open all day from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m., except for the last day of the fair, when it will close its doors at 3.00 p.m.
