A Strong Industry That Promotes Innovation
The INTERGIFT - JANUARY 2006 Exhibition revealed a strong industry made up of small and medium-sized companies that present a constantly evolving range of products, this being the best way of promoting commercial activity. Among the most important product lines, we might highlight a clear tendency to personalize the various parts of the home, based on three approaches that currently shape the cutting edge of decorative trends: an ethnic fashion, a Zen style, and Pop Art or Kitsch. In this respect, at the fair, African motifs such as wild animals, furniture covered with animal skins, tribal figures, feathers ...etc, played a leading role alongside a range of simple and minimalist lines in neutral colours and natural wood, and the colourful and spontaneous appeal of urban culture. These trends were complemented by a range of textiles in lively colours based on mixed textures, in order to achieve a comfortable transformation of the home which is bound to be eye-catching as well.

Fashion Jewellery and Accessories: A Range of Products Tailored to Commercial Developments. For its part, BISUTEX confirmed the successful adaptation of its double exhibition - fashion jewellery and accessories - to commercial developments within the marketplace. These developments have led to a proliferation of establishments specializing exclusively in both of these two segments. The exhibition, which was strongly characterised by the influence of the most innovative fashion trends, offered the most complete overview of the lines and trends for Spring-Summer 2006. In this respect, one of the main sources of inspiration was nature and the enormous possibilities presented under the headings of floral motifs, leaves, butterflies, coral and feathers. The predominant colours were earthy shades, green, lilac and turquoise blue. The fair also presented a number of striking necklaces, bracelets and earrings of spectacular size, reminiscent of African-style tribal art. Silver once again emerged as one of the star materials, combined with leather, natural stones or the brilliant appeal of crystal and the reflect of nacre. Those were also employed, such as T-shirts and bags. Other trends leaned towards a combination of textures, especially with regard to bags and leather goods in general, where the beauty of leather was highlighted when combined with bronze, details in gold and plentiful embroidery. The next edition of International Gift, Jewellery and Fashion Jewellery Week will take place at FERIA DE MADRID between 14th and 18th September. .
