Mr. Vashi announced the ISCC would once again host the inaugural session of the conference at in-cosmetics India, on the theme Wellness - in Body, Mind and Soul. “India has a rich and ancient history of yoga, ayurveda, herbals and naturals. These have always been seen to be the traditional route to wellness from time immemorial … and are even more relevant in today’s hectic and stressful times” he commented. The Cosmetic Chemists of India feel that the Personal Care Industry has an important role to play in offering wellness to consumers and they are expecting technology experts from around the world to discuss their views on this field.
Cosmetic Manufacturing Corridor Announced Mrs. Kajal Anand of AISSCMA (All India Small Scale Cosmetic Manufacturers Association) announced new information concerning the Indian cosmetics industry. As with manufacturing corridors in other parts of Asia, such as the Silicon Chip and IT manufacturing valleys, she explained that a cluster of small-scale cosmetic manufacturers would be set up in the Mumbai region. All types of cosmetic and allied manufacturers would have their plants located in one area. A joint initiative by SISI Mumbai (Small Industries Service Institute, affiliated to the Ministry of Commerce, Delhi) and AISSCMA is forming this cluster, or manufacturing corridor. She believes this will benefit the raw material manufacturers, enabling them to meet with their target buyers in one place. Naturally there will be many more benefits for the manufacturer, which will become obvious as the plan proceeds. For further details visit www.sisimumbai.com
