Fimma-maderalia closes its 32nd edition with over 46.000 registered trade visitors
The 32nd edition of FIMMA (International Fair of Woodworking Machinery) and MADERALIA (International Suppliers Fair for Furniture and Wood Industry) came to a successful conclusion last Saturday, 12th November 2005. Taken jointly the two fairs registered a total of 46,851 trade professionals, a 5% increase on the last edition of the fairs two years ago, who came to see the latest products from the 1289 exhibiting companies from 35 countries.
As one could expect, the bulk of the buyers visiting the fairs came from the European Union, with a special mention for Portugal, with 998 visitors, followed by Italy with 239 and then France with 138, besides a strong presence of buyers from Latin America, especially Argentina with 91 trade buyers, Mexico with 69, Chile with 38 and Brazil with 37, among others. Other markets also showing a keen interest in the products on show at the two fairs were countries from the Middle East and North Africa (Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Kuwait and Lebanon, among others), and from Eastern Europe (Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Lithuania, etc). Over recent editions FIMMA-MADERALIA has made a strong foothold in these two geo-economical areas. This situation is even more noteworthy if we bear in mind that Feria Valencia is set to focus a large part of its internationalization plan in the coming years precisely in these countries. The numbers of foreign trade visitors is up by 11% The number of foreign trade professionals who visited the two fairs reached a total of 3860, meaning a rise of 11% when compared with the last edition in 2003. The profile for visitors to FIMMA-MADERALIA covers the whole spectrum of professions within the construction, carpentry and joinery industries. In fact, we have seen a greater interest from the construction industry for the type of product on show at the fairs, with a noticeable increase in professions like architects, decorators and interior designers.
