FIMI awards, main new feature at the 64th FIMI edition
CHILDREN´S FAIRS organises a conference on sales in children-related commercial sectors.
Feria Valencia opens its calendar of events for 2007 with CHILDREN´S FAIRS, an umbrella event covering the professional fairs FIMI 07, 64th International Fair of Children´s and Young People´s Fashion, and ZERO TO FOUR 07, 19th International Baby and Child Care Show. Both events open on Friday 12th and run through until Sunday 14th January. The main new feature at this 64th FIMI are the IMI Awards (Innovators in Children´s and Young People´s Fashion), promoted by the fair. The mission of the awards is to reward innovation by recognising already existing innovating projects as well as encouraging this practice in companies not yet won over. The IMI Awards at FIMI are divided into three categories, each one with a first prize of 3000 Euros. The first category will award product innovation; the second will distinguish management techniques, tools and methodologies innovating productive processes in this sector; finally, the third category will reward innovative initiatives in marketing and commercialisation. FIMI will focus the attention on salespersons working in points of sale. With this purpose in mind, the fair has organised a number of actions specifically for this target public. "We want visitors to feel that this is their fair, that they are being considered and their concerns taken cared of", says Pepa Ortiz, director of FIMI. To achieve this goal, FIMI has, for the first time ever, an Advisory Committee on points of sale, comprising manufacturers, distributors and agents. The goal of the committee is to liaise directly with distribution. Once again, the fair will organise the Pasarela FIMI fashion show, one of the key features of the event, presenting the trends for the Autumn Winter 2007-2008 Season.
Conference on professional sales activity The conference by Mr. Enrique Belenguer, from INMERCO MARKETING, on professional sales activity programmed for 10:30 am on the opening day of the fair, targets commercial agents working in children-related sectors. According to research carried out by INMERCO MARKETING, effective sales also means an ability to propose innovative and creative solutions instead of just responding to existing demands. Salespersons should adapt to current trends addressing issues such as buyers´ greater knowledge and expertise, higher expectations and standards in quality, and growing competition.
