Fimi and Zero-Four registered 12,350 trade buyers
Last weekend, 12th to 14th February, FIMI and ZERO–FOUR registered a total of 12,350 trade buyers covering practically 100% of the retail sector in Spain in children’s fashion and childcare products.
Another interesting fact was the 5% increase in the number of foreign buyers visiting the two international fairs: Baby and Childcare and Children’s Fashion.
Portugal, Italy and France continue to be the top three in the ranking of foreign buyers, though we also saw a significant rise in numbers of buyers from Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Another noticeable presence was the commercial missions from Russia, a major importer of children’s fashion from Spain.
According to Pepa Ortiz, director of FIMI, “the medium to high end product proved particularly successful at the fair and the majority of exhibitors were more than happy with the results”.
As we have come to expect by now, the Pasarela FIMI fashion shows were one of the main attractions at the fair with new collections from AKR Kids, Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Bóboli, Giesswein, Lourdes, Mini a Ture, Pan con Chocolate, Pif by Aymeric, Rubio Kids by Hortensia Maeso, Tuc Tuc and Tutto Piccolo giving us all an insight into what kids will be wearing this coming fall and winter.
Shifting our focus to ZERO-FOUR, the International Baby & Childcare Show, the 190 exhibitors at this year’s fair had a bustling time and excellent business. As José Vicente Fernandez, director of ZERO–FOUR, put it “the Spanish product is well liked in Europe and indeed all over the world”. He went on to state his belief that exports and turnover of childcare products will increase again in 2007.
