BREAD & BUTTER COMMUNITY

With their new advertising campaign BREAD & butter GmbH announce the motto of next July’s “tradeshows for selected brands”: COMMUNITY – that’s the claim for the 2006 spring/ summer season.

The campaign’s spin doctor is BREAD & butter co-founder and associate Kristyan Geyr: “As a photographer I was always fascinated by the beauty of all those different personalities who come together on the occasion of the BBBs”, states Geyr. His fascination results in countless people shots. In January this year they were shown for the first time within an exhibition at BBBarcelona and BBBerlin. “This exhibition represents an appreciation of all protagonists who represent BREAD & butter”, Geyr explains. These portraits mirror a unique community – exhibitors, visitors, team members of B&b – people who have consistently contributed to the tradeshows’ success. It was with and within this COMMUNITY that BREAD & butter was able to grow into the leading tradeshow in Europe.

Geyr’s significant portraits have been abstracted into strong collages by B&b’s creative team – each advertising image is a unique one-of-one edition, showing 10 to 15 “heads” as the main element. BREAD & butter will place app. 100 advertisements in international trade and upmarket lifestyle press – app. 1.000 protagonists will therefore be seen in magazines like Collezioni (I), Dazed & Confused (UK), J’’C (D), Journal du Textile (F), Link (NL), MMModa (E), Plaza (SE), Sport & Street (I), Sportswear International (INT), UN1QUE (F), WAD (F), WeAr (INT), WWD (USA), X-Ray (INT) and many more. These personalities represent the entire COMMUNITY that extends far beyond. Quotes highlighting the campaign’s core message are another important element of the images – many protagonists have given their definition of COMMUNITY.

Strong colours reflect the summer season.

All images will be shown in exhibitions at BBBarcelona (July 5th – 7th, 2006) and BBBerlin (July 14th – 16th, 2006). More photo shoots are planned there. The original pictures will be collected in an illustrated book that will be published as a limited edition.

This campaign continues a tradition that started with a “welcome ring” offered to the first exhibitors in July 2001 – just like this ring it embraces one of BREAD & butter’s central values: This very special community which is a big part of the company’s and the tradeshow’s success.
