A variety of services for visitors to Automechanika 2006

Efficient planning and cost savings before the fair Online-ticketing, Hotel Guide and W-LAN ensure an easy and stress-free visit to the fair Guided tour of the fair in connection with the 'Automechanika Innovation Award 2006' Messe Frankfurt offers visitors to the Automechanika – Leading International Trade Fair for the Automobile Sector (12 - 17 September 2006) – a variety of services that help make travelling to and attending the fair efficient and stress-free. The internet gives visitors an excellent chance to organise their visit easily and at their leisure beforehand.

Visitors can register online and purchase their admission tickets under 'visit to the fair' at www.automechanika.messefrankfurt.com. This saves waiting time at the entrances. The online ticketing service is available around the clock. In this way, Automechanika visitors can also take advantage of the cheaper advance-selling prices until midday on the last day of the fair. In advance, day tickets cost € 21 each (€ 27 on arrival) and season tickets € 40 each (€ 54 on arrival). Trade visitors who need to exchange a ticket voucher into a personalised admission ticket can also use the online procedure. All admission tickets purchased in advance (except vouchers and complimentary tickets) also entitle their holders to use local public-transport services operated by the RMV transport authority to travel to and from the fair free of charge within the area covered by the authority.
Thanks to the excellent connections between Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre and the local public-transport network, it is also easy to commute to the fair from towns up to 50 km away from Frankfurt. Local trains (lines S3, S4, S5 and S6) stop in the middle of the Exhibition Centre while underground trains (line U4) take visitors from the Main Railway Station (Hauptbahnhof) to the City Entrance Terminal in just two minutes. The distance from Frankfurt Airport to the Exhibition Centre is also short and linked by good train services (lines S8 and S9), which run every 15 minutes to the Main Railway Station (journey time: approx. 11 minutes). A taxi to the Exhibition Centre takes about 30 minutes. Another transfer option is the Airport-Fair Shuttle Bus, which runs from the bus station of Terminals 1 and 2 and takes guests direct to the Galleria or Hall 3 entrance for € 5.
The new edition of the Rhine-Main Hotel Guide is also a useful aid for planning a visit to the fair. With 600 hotels listed, the compact guide gives all visitors the chance to find suitable accommodation. The rates being offered by hotels during the Automechanika can be seen at a glance for the price category required. The Hotel Guide is bilingual (English and German) and can be ordered via the internet for € 6.50 at www.hotelguide-rheinmain.de. Additionally, rooms in hotels and inns can also be reserved by the Tourismus + Congress GmbH, Frankfurt. Inquiries should be directed to info@tcf.frankfurt.de or www.frankfurt-tourismus.de.
Information about all the services available at Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre, e.g., services for the disabled, central information, supermarket, cash dispenser, etc., can be found at www.messefrankfurt.com/corporate/de.
Modern business life is virtually inconceivable without constant availability and unbounded communication. Thanks to W-LAN, visitors and exhibitors can access the internet from anywhere in the Exhibition Centre using wireless technology. W-LAN cards can be purchased from vending machines at the entrances to the fair.
Something of particular interest to Automechanika visitors will be the 'Automechanika Innovation Award 2006' guided tour. The Innovation Award is given for outstanding technical developments in the following categories: parts, systems, tuning, accessories, repairs / diagnostics, repairs / services, body repairs / maintenance and service station / car wash. To be held twice daily, from 13 to 15 September, the two-hour tour begins at the Innovation Award special show in the Foyer of Hall 4.1 and takes participants to the stands of the winners of the Automechanika Innovation Award where expert employees will be pleased to answer any questions. Participation in the tour is free of charge. Registration under 'Events' at www.automechanika.messefrankfurt.com from the beginning of July.
