Switzerland в EIBTM 2007
Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau (SCIB) will be at EiBTM 2007 bringing Switzerland as a destination and almost 40 co-exhibitors.
A small country with great reputation. Situated right in the heart of Europe, Switzerland is popular not just with holidaymakers, but as a host country for international conventions and incentive events as well. After all, the Alpine Confederation provides a perfect setting for trade fairs, congresses and events of all kinds and on every scale all year round. And true to the conference delegate’s motto, “First work, then play,” Switzerland has a wide range of options for exceptional peripheral programmes as well. Whether it is supper suspended in a cable car, a tour of the medieval village of Gruyères, which incidentally can be rented out in its entirety, a high-profile sports event, a music festival or igloo-building adventure – concepts such as team-building, networking and motivation take on a completely new dimension in Switzerland. Due to all of this, and also, to its unspoiled countryside together with a tradition of first-class hospitality through more than 150 years. To ensure that SCIB always delivers the best possible quality, it requires its partners to meet certain criteria. What all twenty-nine partners therefore have in common is excellent infrastructure and the ability to offer creative programmes, efficient organization, an attractive price-performance ratio and multilingual customer service. Switzerland, in other words, has a rich and varied convention and incentive offering that is truly without compare. In addition to such well known host cities as Basel, Geneva and Zürich, it has numerous smaller destinations such as Interlaken, Lausanne, Lugano and Pontresina with similarly impressive congress facilities as well. And even those who choose to confer high up – in St. Moritz or Crans-Montana, for example – can do so in great comfort. By no means the least of Switzerland’s assets as a host country for big events is its excellent road and rail links. Countless airlines, including Swiss International Air Lines, offer direct flights to the country’s main international airports and once there, delegates can avail themselves of a public transport system that has become a byword for efficiency the world over. The perfectly coordinated timetables of this system, which incidentally is the densest public transport network in the world, make for swift changes and short transfer times. The Swiss Travel System (STS) has a range of attractive rail passes such as Swiss Pass, Swiss Card and the Swiss Transfer Ticket, all of which enable visitors to travel in great comfort by train, bus and ferry while at the same time watching the breathtakingly beautiful scenery go by.
