In 1965, the extractor hood is introduced in Spain thanks to the initiative of an enterprising Catalan: Mr. Francisco Boronat Cano. Together with local kitchen furniture manufacturers he decides to develop and commercialize in Spain a product that evacuates smoke generated when cooking, to avoid the furniture from getting stains and being damaged. This is the birth of the extractor hood in Spain. Two years later, the patent office notifies Mr. Francisco Boronat the concession of the NODOR brand, which comes from the contraction of the latin sense non-odor. The new product rapidly expands and an important commercial network is created, to allow Nodor to get to every corner of the country. Nodor is the Spanish leader in the manufacturing of extractors for domestic use, establishing technological innovation guidelines using metallic filters and low consumption and high performance shielded engines. In 1989, the Swiss holding company Diethelm & Co. AG takes charge of Nodor S.A. The change of stocks is benefitial for the firm and provides it with a great financial capacity, enough to remain as the leading company in a market with growing competitiveness. Nodor guarantees its products with the ISO 9002 Certificate of TÜV Rheinland and with the 2000 version of the ISO regulations. Nodor grows together with the markets, providing answers for the demanding competitiveness, the security, quality and design.
