Gasser Chair Company was founded in 1946 by three brothers, Louis, Roger and George Gasser. From the beginning, the brothers instilled into their young company the basic traditions of sound engineering principles, innovative product design and application, and careful attention to detail.

As innovators, Gasser Chair Company was the first to design and develop a unique style of aluminum framed seating specifically for the hospitality and entertainment industries. (Aluminum offered a highly durable, lightweight frame, as well as a new and different choice of frame finishes and colors.)

From this aluminum frame concept, Gasser designed and engineered a special, flexible aluminum bracket to connect a seat and backrest, and thereby provide greater seating comfort. This innovation lead to the development of Gasser's Comfort Zone® seating line in the early 1950s and the industry's first engineered, flexible backrest.

And, as proof and assurance of the superior quality and durability of its product line, Gasser Chair Company introduced a ten-year warranty, the first and longest warranty of its kind for commercial seating.

Gasser was also the first to promote casters and swivels on hospitality seating, to provide greater mobility and comfort in dining rooms or lounges.

In the mid-1970s, George Gasser designed and patented a specially extruded vinyl plastic edging, and the Company subsequently introduced the "Protective Edge" on its entire product line. Over the years, the unique, overall appearances of several Gasser models have established trade dress rights, that have been recently upheld by Federal District Court as well as the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.

Today, the Gasser Chair Company remains family owned and operated. The second generation of Gasser family management, guided by the founders' original principles, proudly continues the tradition of introducing new ideas and innovations, resolving customers' seating requirements and skillfully manufacturing the finest quality seating.
