Bodegas Valdesil specializes in wine production and is located in the privileged region of Valdeorras (Ourense-Galicia), area which has been cultivated upon slate slopes.

• Valdesil – Variety 100% godello Elaboration: lees-aged
• Pezas de Portela – Variety 100% godello Viñas finas de Portela Elaboration: cask fermented.
• Pedrouzos – Variety: 100% godello Elaboration: ageing

Red Wines – Mencía: it is the natural red variety of Valdeorras, also known as “black” variety. It has been adapted to warm relatively humid areas and is characterized by its high fertility and an average-high production. It produces excellent red and rose wines distinguished by its power and multiplicity of primary aromas proving soft and smooth high quality wines.

It all began in 1885 when an ancestor of the Prada family, passionately believing in the nobility of the Godello grape variety, cultivated the first vines on the high, slate slopes of the Sil valley.

In 2001 the company started carrying out Clonal selections and started applying innovative techniques in the Galician viticulture, such as the vegetal cover technique.

Nowadays and thanks to restored heritage and a qualified team of professionals, Bodegas Valdesil is producing elegant and distinctive wines with an unmistakable personality which perfectly reflects their origin and grape variety.

The quality of the obtained wines is determined by the region and the earth as well as by the elaboration and production processes.

The company produces 300.000 bottles of wine from which 50% is assigned to domestic market and the rest is exported to several countries for example: USA, UK, Holland, Belgium, Germany, Italy, Puerto Rico and Canada among others.

Bodegas Valdesil S.L. attends the most important fairs of the sector, both national and internationally.

They will be present at Alimentaria 2008 at Pavilion 3, stand D 769 where they will welcome the audience with its products and guided wine tasting.
