Bodegas Tobía is located in San Asensio, in the heart of Rioja Alta Region, a well-known wine production area.
Its production is composed of DO Rioja wines:
• Red wines: fruit predominant wines in perfect harmony with wood. Tempranillo grape variety predominates.
• Rose wines: potent and fresh aromas, lively pink color, medium alcoholic graduation. Garnacha grape variety predominates.
• White wines: A green-yellowish color, slightly pale, delicate aroma, light and with a low alcoholic graduation. Viura grape variety predominates.
Bodega Tobía carries out its production in its own 20 hectares vineyard, the grape varieties cultivated are:
• Red varieties: Tempranillo, Garnacha, Mazuelo, Graciano.
• White varieties: Viura, Malvasía.
Bodegas Tobía belongs to the generation of wine producers from the Rioja region.
The winery applies traditional wine production techniques inherited from its family members and are also committed to the development of new techniques in its own wine production.
In 1994, Oscar Tobía, owner of the winery, transformed the antique and small winery into a bottling and ageing winery.
Its wines are traded in three lines of production:
• Alma de Tobía for author wines.
• Tobía for Crianza wines.
• Óscar Tobía for Reserva wines.
• Viña Tobía for your wines production.
Its wines have been supported by specialized critics and have also been awarded prizes in contests around the world.
The have an annual production of 400.000 bottles from which a 40% is assigned to exports.
The winery exports to different markets such as: UK, France, Austria, Holland, Switzerland, Mexico and USA.
At Alimentaria 2008 Bodegas Tobía will exhibit its new 2004-2005 ageing wines and other young wines.
